City Commissions

The City of South El Monte has four standing advisory commissions: Advancement of Women & Girls, Community Services, Patriotic, Planning, and Homeless. Each commission consists of residents appointed by the City Council to serve a term of one year.

LOCAL APPOINTMENT LIST – MADDY ACT

 

In compliance with Government Code Section 54972 (Maddy Act), the following appointment list is posted annually on or before December 31st each year. Listed below are all commissions which are appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the South El Monte City Council.  To be eligible to serve on any of these commissions you must be a resident of the City of South El Monte.


Compensation for the following commissions is as follows: Advancement of Women and Girls ($100); Community Services ($100); Patriotic ($100); and Planning ($150), each month in which each commissioner attends at least one meeting.


ADVANCEMENT OF WOMEN AND GIRLS COMMISSION

 

PURPOSE: acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council on all matters pertaining to the advancement of women and girls.
