After School Programs

The Parks and Recreation Division offers 3 different after school programs sites "After the Bell" for grades Kindergarten through 8th. Trained recreation staff supervise children and also offer fun activities such as homework assistance, games, sports, arts-n-crafts and so much more!

Program Details

Each site has fun and interactive activities for all grades to enjoy. Pick which site best fits your children and register today! Programs run from after school dismissal until 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Programs are not held on non-school days, City closures or holidays.

After School Sites

  • Mini Center, located at 1824 Central Avenue, is a drop-off program where students are picked up from their designated school and dropped off at the mini center by our transportation program. Program is held on non-school days. Closed on all major holidays. Space is limited.
  • New Temple Park, located at 1450 Lidcombe Avenue, is a drop-off program where students are picked up at New Temple School by staff and are walked to the designated area at New Temple Park. This is an outdoor facility; New Temple School students only. Space is limited.
  • South El Monte Community Center, located at 1530 Central Avenue, is a community center is a drop-in program. Students are free to come and go as they please. Children are supervised while on site.
