- How to Pay a Parking Citation

Parking Citations are issued to motor vehicles who fail to comply with the City’s Parking Ordinances and California Vehicle Code. Payment must be made within 21 days of issuance of the citation or 14 days of the mailing of the Notice of Delinquent Violation.

Send the proper amount of citation by check or money order, payable to the City of South El Monte. Enclose the parking citation along with your payment and mail to:

Failure to pay a citation will result in a legal proceeding against the registered owner or lessee or renter with an increase in the amount due.
In addition to fine increases, the total amount due will be forwarded to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The DMV will refuse to register the vehicle until all outstanding citations have been paid in full or dismissed. Vehicles which have received five or more parking citations, to which no response is received, are subject to being impounded (22651 (i) (j) C.V.C.)
If you lost your parking citation issued by the City of South El Monte, please call the South El Monte Public Safety Center during business hours at 626-652-3111. Please have your vehicle’s license plate number available. Your license plate number is essential in order to assist you.
The South El Monte Public Safety Center’s Office Hours are Monday through Thursday, 10 am to noon and 5 to 7 pm. The Public Safety Center is closed on major holidays.
You may also call the South El Monte Parking Administration at 866-450-2528 or online at the PayMyCite website. The vehicle’s license plate number will be need to look up a citation.
